Over the past couple of years I have been photographing the Abbeydale Picture House, a 1920's cinema in Sheffield, UK. The history of Sheffield's cinemas is an interesting one, and I am currently tracking down and photographing the remains of its other picture palaces, with a view to producing a self-published book.
The images from the Abbeydale project were shot in (muted) colour, using high dynamic range techniques. This was something of a departure for me, and I'm currently going back to my roots and focusing on producing relatively unmanipulated monochrome prints. Recent subjects include still life and landscape in the Peak District, and the cemeteries of Paris.
